As the role of purchasing has changed from operational to strategic, selecting suppliers and determiningsourcing strategies for different goods and services become a major challenge to most companies. In thispaper we describe the ongoing research on developing the methodology, tool and model to be used forsupplier evaluation, selection and order allocation. After introducing the motivation and scope of the research,the results from a preliminary experiment will be provided to illustrate the progress of the study.
