It uses qualitative research methodology as a guideline for studying. Data is collected through in-depth interviews and documentary research. The study presentation will be presented according to the order of brand building strategies, covering 5 main steps: Target consumer identification, Brand design, Brand identity creation, Brand building implementation, and Leveraging the brand.
The results of the research show that most of the superb community product entrepreneurs of the year who won awards from the contest of 10 brands built brands mainly from food products, following by lifestyle and drinks. The first step in identifying target groups focuses on two main groups according to ‘customer centric’ concept is divided into the business to business (B2B) market and sales through intermediaries, as well as the consumer market (Business to customer: B2C) through storefronts selling, online channels or e-commerce platforms. The identification of target groups in the digital era is clearly different from the past, based on the idea that "the target audience is narrower, making business more focused. The target group that businesses should not overlook in the future, including potential and growth potential businesses for international markets, BCG group, Gen Y group, elderly market, youth market, and tourist group. During the second step, it is found that the brand vision is determined by the business vision, the essence of the brand that is like the heart and soul that stays with the brand forever. Will it focus on delivering emotional value or positive inspiration coming from the outstanding benefits of the product, being an expert, appreciating local wisdom and the uniqueness of the community, the speciality of the main raw materials, the return of profits to society and the contribution to the community. Step 3: Creating a Brand Identity. The research finds that the best community product entrepreneurs of the year pay great attention to communicating the brand to the public because it reinforces the clarity of identity, connects awareness, opens up visibility between brands and target audiences, as well as helps increase market opportunities and creates sustainable growth. However, success of building brand uniqueness doesn’t depend on public sector, but from dedication and determination of the entrepreneur as a founder of the brand.
Step 4: Branding Practices in the initial stage establishes an identity to be known. Not only do community product entrepreneurs introduce their brands through booths at trade shows, selling products in shopping centers, and participating in various government programs for marketing support and brand building, but also creating awareness through owned social media platforms such as Facebook, Line, Instagram, and TikTok. Notably, Facebook page is the primary channel used by all brands as it allows comprehensive storytelling or content to reinforce the concept of "community identity products." Moreover, top community product entrepreneurs of the year prefer to enhance recognition, boost confidence, and promote brand image by selling their products on major e-commerce platforms like Shopee and Lazada. It's found that making a brand known can be achieved through simple techniques, starting with intentionally developing products, focusing on building a unique identity, and pushing that distinctiveness to dominate in a smaller market first. When the uniqueness is sufficient, it can attract partners to strengthen the brand. To connect brands with consumer feelings, it is found if consumers have a good experience continuously for a long time, they will trust the brand until it is difficult to withdraw. This can be divided into 3 phases: Creating a pre-purchase experience before making buying decision, during purchase experience, and post-purchase experience after buying. Step 5: Brand Enhancement. The results of the research show that brand enhancement happens when entrepreneurs have product brands that project community identity and develop them to reach standard with outstanding innovation to create competitive advantage that could address business and community needs in increasing revenue, expanding sales channel and distributing products to the wider market with a right step by step brand growth to avoid getting lost or wasting time for trial and error, starting in order from preparation to competition in both national and international stages.
